Position Overview:

We are looking for an Entry-Level Field Technician/Skilled Labor to assist in installing our moisture monitoring systems on GVRD job sites. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will work in a small team as well as independently to perform field work and generate field reports, from provided work instructions.
Key Responsibilities:

Installation & service of sensor system components (cable, enclosures, sensors, etc.)
​

Performance with non-destructive testing practices
​​

Project site data collections including photo/videographic record keeping.​
​

Creating field reports with site photos and coherent detailed descriptions from templates.​​
​

Assist with basic production of electronics when field work is not required.
​​

Follow all safety protocols, Covid procedures, and work instructions as needed
​
Performance Competencies:
​

Able to meet physical requirements which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, lifting (up to 55 lbs), working at heights, and in all types of weather conditions (wind, rain, snow, sun)

Strong mechanical, analytical skills and comprehensive technical writing skills
​​

Effective communication, team and interpersonal skills
​

Understand construction principles and procedures as well as electrical and building codes.
​​

With a BC drivers license and own vehicle
​​
-
Dexterity in handling wires, cables, and electronics.
​​

WHMIS and Fall Arrest Certificate holder is preferred.
